I took some shots from this shoot on film also, and I printed them out this morning and re-fell in love with all of the photos. Again, the beautiful Danielle Shay.
Young, dumb & lifeless.
My shoot with Danielle today went so well, as always. We didn’t know what we were doing with our shoot when we started but we kind of just went with the flow, and did what felt right. I think the photo’s turned out having this whole vibe of what its about to be young, and not caring what happens next. Young dumb & lifeless.
you pretend to be something your whole life. you pretend to be a strong person. you pretend to be loving. you pretend to have talent. you pretend to care about your appearance. you pretend to be okay, but you never pretend that it will actually become real one day.
This is my reasoning as to why I don’t like doing self portraits. Someone had told me I should try doing them, so I figured I would make a photo that expressed all the reasons I don’t like photographing myself. Take what you want from it.
This is a photo that a friend took of me at a lovely barn in Batavia. We’re in b&w film class together, so this is a scanned print that he had made.
Here’s another one from the same shoot with Tibet. There’s something about these photos that just worked out. They all totally captured sort of a nostalgic vibe, and kind of that raw emotion. Love it!
